SEASONS IN LIFE
We are all familiar with the phrase, "Jesus is the reason for the season."
We as believers know this in spite of the material, commercial worldview of Christmas. But think further than Christmas. The reason for every season in life is Jesus. |
The difficult seasons are the hardest to keep that in mind, but what are the seasons of life ultimately about? You may recall my devotional on Mary that we put out about a year ago. (see articles: Mary's Prophetic Journey) Mary's angelic visitation was the beginning of her destiny in God, and when you think about the society and times she lived in, you can't convince me it wasn't a difficult place to stand.
ANGELIC VISITATION
Mary is a young teenager, who has an amazing angelic visitation. This angel's message: to tell her that her destiny is to give birth to the Son of God. Looking at her circumstances in the natural, it was not something to be rejoicing about - an unwed pregnant teenager! Yet in the midst of her circumstances, she responded to God with the song of Mary, rejoicing in God her Savior… "who has done great things for me…" What an awesome proclamation! |

TRANSITION
Any woman who has given birth will tell you that the transition to hard labor is painful. We go through seasons in our life that require radical change in our jobs, geographical locations, or relationships. Sometimes it is so painful we cry out, "Stop! I can't handle anymore. It's too painful!" Yet the Lord says, "The pain is necessary. If the pain stops prematurely, it brings death. However, if we agree with God, "I am the Lord's servant. May it be to me as You have said," and move through the pain, it brings forth life. We rejoice in God our Savior, we are able to stand the test, we endure the pain because we choose to believe that "what the Lord has said to us will be accomplished!"

REASON FOR THE SEASON
When we are in the middle of a storm, we can focus more on our circumstances than on who God is in the midst of it. The enemy wants us to look down at our circumstances. The Lord wants us to look up! Look to Him to get His perspective on the situation and what He is accomplishing.
As we reflect on this past year, stormy or peaceful, let us remember the reason for the season is Jesus and to submit more and more of our hearts to Him, willing to pay the price to see Him high and lifted up. We need to have the faith and hope that what He wants to accomplish in and

through us will be done. In any season, let us always remember, as Mary did, the Mighty One has, is and does great things for us. *Painting Available Online
PARTNER UPDATE
December is my last month for extensive traveling. By the end of January, we will be completing the move out of the ministry house, and I will be transitioning into a time of sabbatical from the conference circuit. This time off the road of much needed rest will also give me time to work on creative projects. I have been working intensely on |

my book, "Awake Deborah Awake," and my new teaching CD's will be out early next year. I will also be preparing for new trips to third world nations and developing new Master Potter sponsored events. It is an exciting time and one that is requiring me to stretch to a new level of faith.
