Last month, a New Awakening was birthed in New England.

Just miles from the very epicenter of the First Great Awakening where Jonathan Edwards preached as the Holy Spirit swept through the land, God has started a move of the Spirit in New England once again. There is no turning back.

As a key gatekeeper church in New England, Gateway Christian Fellowship led by Pastors Brian and Candy Simmons, are in a congregation-wide 30-day fast. The church has met together every night throughout the month of January with different speakers flying in from all over the nation. During this intense season of prayer and fasting, the focus of the fast was a cry for visitation – that heaven would touch earth, that God would bring an open heaven, and that a realm of glory would be so manifest and contagious that a revival must follow. They will not be satisfied with anything less!

The last weekend of January, during a four-day conference of meetings with prophetic oracle Jill Austin, the Lord answered those prayers. The following is the complete transcript of an interview between Pastor Brian Simmons and Jill Austin. This remarkable move of God that you are about to encounter was so historic that the leadership of Gateway Christian Fellowship is praying about extending the meetings through February and Jill will return to minister there on Feb 11-15. Jill Austin: What I saw prophetically over your house is a huge regional Angel of Revival and that you are an international beachhead on the East Coast. Literally, there was an open heaven over your territory with a Jacob's ladder of angels that were ascending and descending the last several nights of our meetings. I have not seen an outbreak of a move of God in America like this before. The closest event I can compare it to was when I saw the Lord touch the nation of New Zealand in 1992 with a tremendous move of God, which was before The Toronto Blessing had broken out in 1994. How would you describe the meetings and what happened?

Pastor Brian: The last three nights of Jill’s time with us were extraordinary in every way. The passion of the people coming to the meetings was remarkable. They even stood on the pews the last night crying out to God for a touch and for a visitation. Jill’s ministry brought a catalytic breaker anointing, which released the angelic in the room like I’ve never seen before in my life. There was no place to hide.

In every corner of the sanctuary it was full of God. The angelic activity was beyond what could be described. I saw young people, college, and high school students, who have no desire to fake it or hype that were, by unseen hands, picked up off the ground, rolled on the ground, and moved extraordinarily by the activity in the room.

God’s anointing was tangible … His presence … His glory. The meeting was full of revelation, teaching, and impartation. It was a thrill to my heart as a pastor and the gatekeeper of this region to see the King of Glory come in this open gateway. It was humbling; it was stirring; it was encouraging.

I’m just so glad Jill came and that we could be a part of this dramatic move of God that has broken loose! That is what’s on my heart. If that wasn’t the beginning of an awakening, I don’t know what it would look like.

Jill: I think it is really important to put this event within the context of its prophetic history because you have received many key words from Chuck Pierce and Jim Goll about what the Lord would do this month.

Pastor Brian: Chuck prophesied that a move of God would be touching Yale campus. A yell would come out of Yale. Our church would have a role in it.

Jim Goll came and prophesied twice in the course of two meetings. The first prophecy was that a move of God would come in January to our church. The second time he prophesied it, he gave us the date. Jim said it would be starting January 16 - that between January 16-23 it would be in full manifestation.

Jill: Our meetings started January 16 and went through January 19. Andre Ashby, one of my spiritual sons was on the 15th.

Pastor Brian: Yes, and your meetings started January 16. We know we are sitting on the beginning of a dramatic outpouring of the Holy Spirit. The Lord definitely used you the last three nights as the catalytic breaker that opened up the heavens. What is so exciting is that in this time frame the meetings started with you, then we are having Todd Bentley for two days, followed by Randy Clark for another three days. This is how the Lord fulfilled Jim's word about the outpouring between January 15-23.

Jill: Did Jim Goll prophesy anything else about these meetings?

Pastor Brian: He prophesied that it would be the release of another Pentecostal expression in the North East.

Jill: Do you feel that God fulfilled this promise and brought a fresh Pentecost to your church?

Pastor Brian: What was so neat was that without you knowing any of this, of course, the message that the Holy Spirit gave you to preach was Acts 2 about the outpouring of the Holy Spirit, which was a complete confirmation. You spoke on how the key to city transformation is to have radical encounters and visitations with the Lord. This message literally brought in that very Pentecost that Jim prophesied.

We just pray that God will show favor on the Northeast and New England and continue this open portal over us with angelic activity. We are asking for the outshining of Christ in our very midst and conversions with baptisms in the Holy Spirit. That is what we saw.

Jill: I truly believe that you are one of the Eastern Gates of the nation where revival is going to break in with radical signs and wonders to bring in a great harvest! The historic prayers of revivalist Jonathan Edwards are being answered because America is on the verge of another Great Awakening. I could also feel whirlwinds of glory that were real realms. You could feel heaven just like a holy tornado hitting the people as the Lord's Manifest Presence filled the room. The wildness of the Holy Spirit, with a fresh baptism of fire, hit the room because there was such an intense hunger level in the people for more of God! How do you feel about all of the things that happened?

Pastor Brian: I felt all of the things you were describing and I know there is more God wants to pour out so it is important that we keep seeking His face and praying for the great outpouring -- the Great Awakening -- to grip this nation. Let it begin in New England!

Jill: I feel this Great Awakening, as you call it, is very different from Toronto and from Pensacola because it will be known as a move of glory, visitation and revival. It is similar to Toronto in the sense that you will have extended nightly meetings; however, this is different because it will be marked by an intense realm of glory and visitations. God’s move will not merely be for the lost and prodigals to be saved, healed and delivered, but also for believers to have radical encounters with Jesus.

Pastor Brian: Those were the very aspects of what we have tasted thus far: glory, visitation, and revival. We had three military guys from a nearby submarine base come into one of your meetings who were unsaved and searching. They came to know Christ, even in this midst of the glory burst, so it tells me, Jill, that it has to be a move of the Spirit when the lost are coming in off the street and being saved!

Jill: Have you ever seen any like this on the East Coast before?

Pastor Brian: Never.

Jill: Have you personally seen anything like this before?

Pastor Brian: No, it was like something I have only heard stories about.

Jill: In coming from a missions background, you have had some very rich experiences in God's glory, haven’t you?

Pastor Brian: We have seen the Jesus People Movement from the early days and we saw the power of God poured out in the jungle in our remote village, but this open portal that filled the sanctuary left people with no place to run. God’s presence was everywhere.

Jill: Pastor, what I felt was so exciting was that there were so many pools of glory everywhere. Would you say that maybe 100 people experienced real angelic encounters corporately all over the room?

Pastor Brian: No, I would say it was closer to two hundred! Often, when the young people would see the Holy Spirit move in power and the angelic open up, they would run over to that area of the room and jump into that realm of heaven that was touching earth. They did this just so that they could be there in the presence of the Lord. It was amazing.

Jill: It sounds to me like you are describing a breakthrough with heaven kissing earth. Do you think this is an accurate description?

Pastor Brian: Yes, it really was. It was full of the raw power of God with the radical fire of God burning in the sanctuary. It had elements of the Toronto and Pensacola anointing. It was very fiery and personal, inescapable, convicting and soothing all at the same time.

Jill: Do you feel like there was a change governmentally over your area?

Pastor Brian: Yes, I did. It definitely went up another level for our region. We’ve never had anything like it.

Jill: Do you feel like many received powerful impartations from Holy Spirit?

Pastor Brian: Yes, everyone left wishing that this could go on forever -- that it could just continue. There were many physical healings, powerful prophetic words, and baptisms in the Holy Spirit. People were so hungry that they even showed up at the church the day after your meetings were done, wondering if you were going to be ministering throughout the day. Even though our office was closed, somehow they found their way there, called, e-mailed, and came to the church expecting more because of the fullness of what took place the night before.

Jill: So, the news is already out?

Pastor Brian: That’s right.

Jill: What is the Lord saying to you? Are you praying about continuing these meetings past the month of January?

Pastor Brian: Definitely, whatever God has for us we want! We actually are going to continue through February now, meeting every night, and we are looking forward to having you come February 11- 15 to minister again. We are His Church and whatever He has for this region … we want it!

Jill: That’s awesome! Is there anything else you want to say?

I think this is something that may be in a manger stage: it’s a stage that needs to be nurtured, cared for, and protected. I’m just glad I’m alive and that I am called of God for this day and for this moment!

Jill: Before I draw this interview to a close, I cannot end without sharing what the Lord put on my heart. I feel the Lord has shown me that the next move of God that’s coming to the earth will be marked by several characteristics. The tokens that we saw this past weekend were the beginnings of the Lord opening the Eastern Gates of America.

1. Angel of Revival: Pool of Bethesda and The Harvest I feel like you will be one of the modern-day pools of Bethesda that the Lord is opening up across the earth. This Angel of Revival will bring signs, wonders and healings just like the pool of Bethesda. God is not going to keep this move within the four walls of your church. The lost and prodigals will return to encounter Jesus. This next decade will be a decade of Acts 2, the might acts of the Holy Spirit, marked with a return to First Love. This will be expressed through passion for Jesus and compassion for the Lost.

2. Jacob's Ladder: Glory and Visitation God is going to bring in a realm of glory and visitation that will just hover over your church. There will be a ladder over you house joining earth to heaven. It is more than an open portal, for truly there is a Jacob's ladder over the house -- with angels ascending and descending. What is awesome is that this is more than just a place of signs, wonders, healings, deliverances and radical salvations. What I keep seeing is that there will be a realm of visitation that is going to rest on this house. People will literally have throne room experiences.

We must understand that the Lord is raising up cities of refuge to prepare His Body for the incoming holy war. As the nations are in the midst of great shaking and on the verge of global war, it is so important that we have radical encounters, visitations, and go into the counsel of the Lord to get the fresh blue print plans for this day and hour. He will use this house and others to raise up Isacaar prophets and ones who go before the throne to know the times and seasons. The Lord is raising up a resource center where people will come to have radical visitations and encounters with the Lord God Almighty!

3. Circuit Riders - Carriers of a Transferable Anointing This is not merely a place where people will gather, for they will be sent out from this house. The anointing is transferable! People will come and catch a realm of visitation, glory and revival and bring it back to their regions.

4. A Sound Is Being Trumpeted! I saw this Angel of Revival sound a trumpet call to bring forth people from the four corners of the earth because this will be a house of His Manifest Presence. Joseph’s company, market-place apostolic leaders releasing finances to build the Kingdom, women being released, with a New Jesus People Movement will be some of the many tell-tale signs of a new Pentecost breaking forth on the earth.

Pastor Brian: Yes, I believe it and we are preparing for it!

1. Originally, when booking this conference, what was on your heart to invite Jill to minister at your conference?

I knew we wanted a high level prophetic gift, but I’m in a bit of awe because the whole thing was put together by the Lord. It wasn’t one of those kinds of things where we had a tremendous amount of forethought. God spoke to me and spoke to Jill on the same day that it needed to happen. So, I was in anticipation as to what He would do and what God had in mind. I just knew He was going to do something different, and I knew that it would affect the foundation of the church. We would never be the same.

2. What vision or expectations did you have before the conference concerning what the Lord would do?

I felt that something in the DNA, in the foundation and in the very genetic structure of our church, would be sifted and that it would launch us -- it would be a launching pad toward our destiny in the Lord.

3. How did the Lord meet or exceed your expectations?

He met and exceeded our expectations. Jill is such a sovereign vessel! Number one, she is just so loveable. You just fall in love with her. But number two, the way she partners with the Holy Spirit is beyond what I expected. It was like it brought a dimension of glory that exceeded our expectations.

4. What were the meetings like? (i.e. a description of them).

They were electric! In the first fifteen minutes of the first night, there was a sovereign break out of the Holy Spirit. Literally, the first fifteen minutes after she got up - and she didn’t have a chance to say more than twelve minutes worth of things - the Holy Spirit broke in sovereignly.

Half of the church was up front and half of the ones who were up front were on the floor under the sovereign move of the Holy Spirit. It was just electric! I say electric, but there was a glory there. I don’t want everybody to have the mindset that that electricity just zapped people. It was more - the glory was there. There was a sovereign glory and outpouring of glory.

5. How did the Lord shift things in the natural and in the Spirit realm?

In the natural, it gave tremendous understanding to the transitional season our church is in. In the spiritual realm, it did a lot of shifting by affecting [and I don’t know how He did this], but He affected the very foundation and structure of our church!

In the Spirit, I just know we are different. It’s almost like we were promoted to a new name spiritually.

6. How do you feel the Lord used Jill to governmentally establish your church?

She confirmed a lot of things that she would have no way of knowing what had been on our heart to do governmentally. It just added weight and validity to it. That was just unarguable. It made the transitional and the governmental shifts that we have to take very easy to do.

7. Do you have a particular memory or story that you would like to share in particular that might encapsulate what the Lord did for you this weekend?

What stands out very well is a memory of a lady who is probably 69 and has a son who had recently been diagnosed with AIDS. He was in a mental hospital and is really going downhill fast (kind of losing his mind). The woman had come to church, having just come out of a bad situation -- a spiritually abusive situation. A few months ago, she came to our church and for the first time, she was feeling life again. A lot of things went well.

She brought her son to a service a month ago and he really acted up. He did some things that were inappropriate, but we were ok with it. We just loved him. But she was so embarrassed that she stopped coming to church. For months, probably five months, I don’t know how many months, but she just wouldn’t come back.

She came back for the first time during one of the nights when Jill was ministering and she had a prophetic word for her. Jill went over to her and said, “I feel like you are an intercessor.” [by the way, the lady is a devoted intercessor]. Jill said, “Do have a son?” Jill continued, “Yes, I see you have a son, and God is telling you tonight that all you were doing is crying out for your son. God said to tell you He heard those prayers for your son and tonight He is answering!”

You could see all the weight - everything she had been carrying for the last months - drop off of her. It was such a beautiful experience.

8. How do you think God both changed the lives of people in your ministry, and how do you think that He used your time with Jill to governmentally establish your ministry?

I have been talking to people after the conference and everybody is just in awe. We know we won’t be the same again. It’s basically because of the way the Lord partners with Jill. I mean, the Lord sovereignly touched us in incredible ways so God is getting a tremendous amount of glory.

Everybody loves Jill, but everybody loves God even more!
