Love and greetings to each of you reading our first newsletter in 1999! As you know, Jill went with a team of 20 Metro Christian Fellowship people to India from January 10-23. She wants to share her heart with you so you can hear about the things you have prayed for! Your prayers really DID make a difference!
India: Their Blood Cries Out
Christian Persecution
Churches and homes are being burned in Northern India, with reports of severe beatings, stabbings, murders, rapes, and beheadings. The Christians are known as an "easy kill" because they don’t fight back violently like the Muslims do. Spiritual warfare and fervent intercessory prayer is unifying the Body of Christ across India as reports of persecutions have increased.
Our first evening meeting in India at the Kolar Gold Fields, an interdenominational gathering of village churches in the area, was led by Sam and Prasanna Meshach of Madras. They showed us a recently produced video of various churches being burned to the ground during Christmas of l998. Upon returning home from India, we received this email and report that happened the very day we left the nation.

Report: Bhubaneswar, India - January 23, 1999
An Australian missionary, Mr. Graham Stewart Steins, (58), and his two
sons, Philip (9) and Timothy (7), were burned to death by unidentified miscreants (vicious criminals) at Manoharpur village near the Anandpur police station in Orissa's Keonjhar district early this morning.
According to information available at the State headquarters, over 100 miscreants poured petrol on the station wagon in which Mr. Steins and his sons were sleeping and set it ablaze killing all three.
The incident has sent shock waves throughout the State in which Mr. Steins was a popular figure in Baripada. He had been working with World Vision of India, helping leprosy patients since 1965.
While in Manoparpur, he’d been staying with Mr. Gilbert Venz and another Australian college teacher, who were sleeping in a nearby house and escaped the attacks of the miscreants. When the villagers of Manoharpur tried to come to the rescue of Mr. Steins and his children, they were reportedly attacked also.
A radical and violent political Hindu group called the RSS, known only as a fringe group, has become strongly associated with the BJP, the largest Hindu political party in the Indian Parliament (which came into power in l996). Its growing power threatens all of India’s religious minorities, particularly the large Muslim community and the 25 million Christians in India.
Red Light District - - 150,000 Prostitutes
We drove near a section of the city where 150,000 prostitutes are in windows or cages and you can "buy" one for one dollar. (Teen Challenge and other Christian associations can "buy out" these girls from under their pimps for about $500 apiece). The brothel is a high crime area run by the Mafia. About 70% of their customers are male college students. 90% of the prostitutes are between the ages of 12 and 21 years old, are HIV positive or have Aids, and many of them have multiple children that are living with them in extreme poverty, sexual perversion, and violence.
It has been said that by the year 2000, about 1 out of every 5 women in Bombay will have Aids or be HIV positive. It is an epidemic! My heart weeps for the destruction of their next generations. Pray for revival in India!!!
Where are the Harvesters?
On our last day, while surveying the vast city of Bombay with its 15 million people, the sea of humanity overwhelmed my soul. I saw thousands and thousands of lost souls. Everywhere I looked, I saw heavy oppression, filth, pungent odors, abject poverty, and the tragedies of human lives who did not know a living God.
Yet in America, stacked in rows upon rows and pew after pew, we sit in church waiting and crying out, "Oh, Lord, use me! I don’t want to be just a pew-sitter. I want to pour my life out and see people saved, healed and delivered." God wants to send you and me … but it means leaving our gods of comfort and convenience!
An Inner Vision of Jesus Given to Jill
I saw the Lord hearing the cries of the intercessors and the moans of the prisoners condemned to death. He took a large golden ring with numerous golden keys on it and walked towards many heavily locked and bolted doors of Western churches to unlock them.
Then walking into the midst of the peoples, He began to cry out with prophetic proclamation, "Who will go in My Name? Who will go to the poor, the forgotten, the sick, the imprisoned, and the demonized? Will you let Me unlock your hearts and let me give you My heart?"
"Dear ones, it’s not about arriving on the platform of your local churches or being a speaker in your conferences. Yes, these things are all good, but the platform I want to send you to is the platform of the world - My world, My tribes, My people groups. Will you go to your isolated neighbors and your broken inner cities and hear the cry of millions going to hell throughout the nations?"
"Once again, I’m sending forth a holy, raw, fiery tidal wave to ignite first love into the hearts of My people. Yes, I want to draw them into a radical Bridal romance with Me, their Bridegroom. Then I will respond to their passion of seeking My face with a consuming compassion for the lost. I will then release a trumpet anointing to mobilize thousands and thousands of My people as "Harvesters" to go to the lost, the dying, and the forgotten waste places of the earth."
"And they have overcome him by means of the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their utterance (testimony), for they did not love and cling to life, even when faced with death." Rev. 12:11 [Amplified]

Finances
Continual monthly support or a one-time gift to our ministry to cover office expenses and salaries so we can stay home and write the book. We also want to accept invitations to other nations (half of our income is "lost" when it’s converted into US dollars).
